Welcome to the second part in a three part series featuring the flatland skimboarding contests in Utah, Washington and Poland. Thanks to RailWerx, Zed Skimboards, DB Skimboards, Konar Pro Skimboards, SeventyOne, Sandy Crack Skimboards, Skimbowl, Extreme Outdoor Supply, SkimZone.com and SkimMagazine.com for sponsoring the series.
This was the 10th year the DB Pro/AM went down in Ferderal Way, Washington. The contest is now a mainstay in the skimboarding world and is one of the largest contests. Riders from all over the USA and abroad competed this year on a variety of obstacles, rails, jumps, boxes and more.
“Skimming the DB comp was super gnarly,” said Sacrmento rider Adam Balaam. “The setups were all new. Some turned out to be super dope. The Quarter-pipe was really sick, but it was almost too gnarly. The roller coaster with a kick was so fun. At first it was hard to work with the hump, but once your found the sweet spot it was a booster.”
Our next issue will focus on the 2013 Polish Skimboarding Open that I was able to attend that will complete the series. Hope you enjoy the second mini issue!
Thanks,
Matt McDonald
