Take a look into the Maine skimboarding scene with Cam Mahoney…
Hello, my name is Cam Mahoney and I’m from Kennebunkport, Maine. Growing up in Kennebunkport I spent a lot of time on the ocean, sailing, swimming and such. However, I had never seen skimboarding until I visited Laguna Beach, California and was introduced to the sport…I have been skimming ever since. I skim anywhere I can: beaches, ditches, the flooded golf course and year round, which involves a wetsuit in Maine.
There are now four-year-round skimmers in our area: Zach Peirce, Sam Sayward, Rob Davis, myself and a few summer riders. Overall the four of us are of the same skill level, so I try to distinguish myself. I made somewhat of my own style and make my edits very different. My latest edit “Into the Mist” is my artsy edit which adds a lot of photography to the edit. I have also started a small brand called Twenty7, we sponsor skimboarders and skiers with a primary goal of exposure. We want people to see who we are and what we do.
