Sunuga is a beach in Brazil is surrounded by rain forest and palm trees and features a wave that is very well suited for skimboarding. The “Wedge” of Brazil is now the location for the 2013 United Skim Tour World Cup of Skimboarding, which is going down April 23 – April 28.
Raphael Bastos is a Brazilian skimboarder and photographer who runs the site Skimacumba.com. He and a few friends recently took a trip to Sunuga for some skim.
“Describing Sununga is harder than you would think. Upon arrival at the beach, you realize that different climate and may seem cliché to say it, but Sununga is almost separate from planet Earth, which has its own laws, people and way of living, an unmatched peace,” said Raphael on his review of the trip on skimacumba.com.
“All who come (to Sunuga) will surely have an amazing experience. It will no doubt be amazing to see Sammy Stinnet, Blair Conklin, Bill Bryan and other big names in the sport at Sununga,” said Raphael.
All eyes have been on Brazil as of late in the skimboard world thanks to the amazing media from Raphael (Skimacumba.com) and Andre Magarao (SkimBrasil.com). Now we wait patiently for April and UST World Cup of Skimboarding.
