Triple B Skim Team (Wolfey and Tron)… And there is a plethora of other guys I ride with too.

26th Ave in Santa Cruz… Keep an eye out for me in September for the O’Neill Skim Bash out there!

X-games.
What riders influenced your skimboarding?
All my buddies here in Vic, they’re always pushing for new innovative tricks…
What riders are pushing the sport right now?
Lynch, Isaac, Minns, ya know the usual guys. I’m really stoked on the wave scene these days, so all of the dudes killing it on the UST are pushing me to crush our Canadian waves.
If you were stranded on a desert island that already has a plentiful resource of skimboards what three things would you bring?
Camera, batteries, and a monkey butler that can take photos, change batteries, and that would taste delicious if sh*t hit the fan.
What is the best advice you can to a skim grom trying to get recognized?
Compete in all your local skim comps, and get active on skimboarding message boards! If you do make the step to contacting people – make sure you make yourself sound respectable… You are trying to sell yourself.
How is the skimboard scene on Vancouver Island? How are the waves?
All of the riders are very laid back, everyone supports each other, and there is mutual respect for other guys/gals at the beach with board. I hope Island scene doesn’t change! The waves on the Island are totally hit and miss, for instance this past weekend on Friday night I skimmed the most epic Port Renfrew waves from about 8 – 10pm… Then the next morning I skimmed 6-8am and the waves didn’t even exist. You gotta have your fingers crossed when you drive the 1.5hrs from Victoria to Port Renfrew in search of waves.
Is the skimboarder population growing on the island?
The population is growing rapidly on the Island, there has been a huge influx of skimboarders over the past two years… It’s such an accessible sport and now all of the surf shops are carrying professional quality boards. The sport is only improving!
How did you come to start SkimBC.com?
Geeze, six or seven years ago I started up SkimBC with the idea that I could help promote the sport of Skimboarding through creating a local community. On a more technical level I’ve always been intrigued by web design and design in general, so it seemed like a natural progression to integrate my athletic passion with my technical passion. SkimBC has done amazing things for me personally, I’ve gained life-long friends through the site and now have connections with people I probably wouldn’t have made any other way!
Last words? Shout outs?
Chicks dig skimboarders.
