The second stage of Skim Festival Brasil 2010 took place on July 24th and 25th at Sununga Beach, in Ubatuba City – SP. Skimmers from all over Brazil showed up and made one of the best skim contests ever in Brazil.
In the first day, the contest started a little bit late but luckly the waves were good all day long. Secondary siders and straight waves were working good but kinda hard to make it.
The second day of the contest started under a sunny weather but with worse skim conditions. By the afternoon, the high tide came in and made the conditions a lot better with primary siders, secondaries and also good straight waves. Leandro Azevedo and Renato Lima made certainly one of the best final heats in the history of skimboarding, as you saw in the video. Both were getting insane rides and it was kinda impossible to say who was going to win, but when there was 10 seconds remaining, Renato Lima got a primary sider and crossed half of the beach with a backside barrel in the end of the ride. He received 10 from the 3 judges and took the contest.
